Progress Outage Leaves Tideland Members in the Dark

Tideland Electric Membership Corporation members in Pamlico and Craven counties lost power at 5:30 p.m. today when Progress Energy, the cooperative’s power supplier, lost transmission service. As a result, Tideland EMC’s Silver Hill and Arapahoe substations shut down leaving 6,657 consumers in the dark. A little after 8:00 p.m. Progress Energy restored transmission service restoring power to most co-op members.
